About
Atlanta Indian Idol
IACA Atlanta Indian Idol Contest is a program that was founded by Mr. Chand Akkineni and Dr. Raktim Sen under the auspices of India American Cultural Association, Inc. in 2013. The idea was to showcase and recognize the singing talents in our community. First of its kind in the Greater Atlanta area, the singing competition embraced the essence of Bollywood – music, dance, talent and glamour in one show. Emceed by popular personalities, Suchita Vadlmani and Ash Chandler, there was never a dull moment for the audience of over 900 that gathered around to cheer the JUNIOR and SENIOR finalists during the Grand Finale at prestigious Ferst Center for the Arts at Georgia Tech.
The next three year the competition grew even bigger to drew contestants from out of state, including California, Texas, New Jersey and North Carolina.
After a hiatus of 3 years Atlanta Indian Idol was back in 2020 with bang with over 120 contestants in two categories (Juniors and Seniors) auditioned over a period of two weeks to qualify for a spot in the Grand Finale held on January 25, 2020 at the beautiful Lassiter Concert Hall in Marietta, GA.
